Assault + Additional Charges
On Sunday, September 14th, a 32-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service (BPS) to report ongoing domestic abuse by her 40-year-old boyfriend. She disclosed a history of abuse and recent threats made against her. Officers located and arrested the male at the 18th Street bridge. At the time of arrest, he was found to be in possession of a knife. He was transported to BPS, held in custody, and is scheduled to appear in court in the morning. The male is facing charges of: Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On September 15th at approximately 1:17 a.m., police responded to a report of a male attempting to gain entry by shaking the doors of a building in the Maryland Park area while yelling and swearing. Officers located the 18-year-old male who was found to be highly intoxicated. He was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. He will be released once sober.
IPDA
On September 15th at 2:11 a.m. police came across a highly intoxicated female in the 1200 block of 18th Street. She was taken to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrant
On September 15th at 12:30 p.m. BPS members attended a home in the 100 block of 5th Street and arrested a 42-year-old male on the strength of his endorsed Warrant for Arrest. He was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of October 20th, 2025.
