Police News Release September 13th, 2025

For the Past 24 Hours:

 

Warrants Executed 

On Friday Sept 12th,  5 subjects were arrested on outstanding warrants for their arrest with varying charges including Failing to attend court and Failing to comply with court orders. Three of the arrestees were released with new court dates, and the other 2 were held in custody.

 

Breach of Probation

On Friday Sept 12th,  3 subjects were arrested for Failing to comply with their Probation orders.  One male was found with an incendiary device contrary to his probation order.  A 2nd male was found in possession of a knife, contrary to his probation order, and a female was located within a business for which she in on an order not to attend.  All were released with new court dates.

 

Breach of Court orders and Possess Weapons

On Friday night shortly after 7pm, Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Van Horne Ave for a passed-out female. Upon Police arrival they found the subject to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for herself. While being searched she was found to have a folding knife and a letter opener on her person and she is on multiple orders with conditions not to possess weapons and not to consume alcohol. She is charged with Failing to comply with her Undertaking order as well as four breaches of her Probation order.

 

Break & Enter and Weapons offences

Police concluded an investigation into an incident from August 2nd and have charged two youths with Break & Enter with Intent, Assault X2, Carrying a concealed weapon, and Possession of Weapons.   One 17-year-old and a 15-year-old male kicked in a door during the B&E and were in possession of bear mace and machetes. After the initial B&E, they then drove to a second location where they used the bear mace on one youth victim and threatened another youth with the machete.  All subjects were known to each other.

 

Breach of Peace

Within the last 24 hours, one female was arrested for Breach of Peace after she was found topless, standing in the middle of traffic and refusing to move out of the way.   In a separate incident, one male was found intoxicated and being aggressive towards others, so he was arrested for Breach of Peace. Both were lodged in cells at BPS.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested and held in BPS detention cells for IPDA.  They will be released once sober/calm.
