Police News Release - September 12th, 2025

Theft Under $5000
On September 11th the Brandon Police Service (BPS) had a 51-year-old female turn herself in knowing she was wanted for an outstanding Theft Under $5000 charge. The incident occurred on September 5th from a business in the 1000 block of Richmond Avenue. The female was released via Undertaking with a court date of November 20th, 2025.
Arrest Warrant
On September 11th at 10:41AM a 40-year-old female was arrested at her residence in the 300 block of 10th Street on the strength of an outstanding Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court). She was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of October 9th, 2025.
Assault
On September 11th at 2:37 PM, police were called to a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street following reports of a male individual acting violently towards staff and patrons. The suspect had specifically shoved one employee to the ground before fleeing the scene and boarding a city bus. The individual, who is known to police, was located and arrested a short distance south of the business. The 31-year-old male was taken into custody, held in BPS detention cells, and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of September 12, 2025.
Arrest Warrant
On September 11th at 5:03PM an employee of an establishment in the 400 block of 9th Street requested police remove a female who was passed out on the bathroom floor. The 29-year-old female was arrested on the strength of her outstanding Warrant for Arrest and brought to BPS detention cells. She will be released once sober on an Appearance Notice with a court date of October 9th, 2025.
Arrest Warrant
On September 11 at 6:05 PM, police were requested by hotel security on Middleton Avenue regarding a physical altercation between a male and female in one of the rooms. The intoxicated male had reportedly left the room but began punching the door shortly afterward. Upon police arrival, the female declined to pursue charges. The 32-year-old male was arrested on the strength of an endorsed RCMP warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation. He was transported to BPS detention cells and will be released on an Appearance Notice once sober. Lynn Lake RCMP later contacted BPS to provide a court date, which is set for November 25th, 2025 in Lynn Lake, MB.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested and held in BPS detention cells for IPDA. They will be released once sober/calm.
Assault by Choking / Uttering Threats
In follow-up to an incident reported on July 27, 2025, a 40-year-old male was arrested at 9:57 PM on September 11th at his residence in the 200 block of 25th Street. He was arrested and charged with Assault by Choking and Uttering Threats. In accordance with Crown direction, the male was released on an Undertaking with a court date set for September 15, 2025.
Attempted Break and Enter
On September 10, police received a report of an attempted break and enter at a business in the 1500 block of Pacific Avenue. The suspect attempted to gain entry to a shed and spent a significant amount of time trying to access the main building. A 31-year-old male, known to police, was identified through surveillance footage. The suspect was already in custody at BPS on an unrelated matter and was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. He is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of September 12, 2025.
