Police News Release - October 8th, 2025

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested on the strength of their warrants. Three were released via Appearance Notices and one was held for court.

 

Impaired Driving / Drive Over 80 mgs%

On October 7th police received a call of a possible impaired driver and was given a license plate and vehicle description. The vehicle was soon stopped in the 200 block of 10th Street. The 24-year-old male driver was suspended after blowing a fail on the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The male gave breath samples of 120mgs% and 110mgs%. The vehicle was towed.

 

Theft Under $5000

Police responded to an unknown situation at a business on the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. It was found that an individual had left without paying for items. The 33-year-old male was located on the walking path and arrested. The male had stolen $10.96 worth of items. The male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells due to intoxication level and will be released once sober on an Undertaking with a court date of December 11th, 2025.

 

Failure to Comply Probation

On October 7th at 8:20 a.m. police received notice that a 22-year-old female was in a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue contrary to her Probation Order. She was located, arrested, and held in BPS detention cells for a period of time to sober up. She was then released via Appearance Notice with a court date of December 8th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace.

Each individual was held in BPS detention cells – a 22-year-old female was held until sober, and a 17-year-old male was held until a parent could pick up.

 

Sexual Assault / Sexual Interference / Invitation to Sexual Touching

In May of 2025 BPS Toba Centre were made aware of a historical sexual assault that occurred involving a 44-year-old male and his then 6-year-old daughter. (Child now 15). As a result of that investigation the male was arrested on October 7th, 2025, charged accordingly, and held in BPS detention cells to attend court in the morning.
