Police News Release - October 7th, 2025

IPDA / Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for IPDA and one for Breach of the Peace. They will be released from BPS detention cells once sober/calmed down.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 6th, 2025, Thompson RCMP request BPS members attend Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) to execute a Warrant on an inmate. A Brandon Police Service (BPS) officer attended and executed the Warrant (Operation While Impaired / Operation While Impaired Causing Bodily Harm). The 36-year-old male remains in custody at BCC and will attend court in the morning.

 

Theft Under $5000 / Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On October 6th an employee from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue called police to report a theft of over $100 in cosmetics from the store. A description of the female suspect was given and video footage was reviewed by police. The suspect was located and placed under arrest shortly thereafter. She was also on conditions not to attend the store. The 32-year-old female was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of December 15th, 2025.  

 

Controlled Drugs & Substances Act - Possession of Methamphetamine

On October 7th at 1:43 a.m. a BPS officer initiated a pedestrian stop in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue. The investigation resulted in locating 3 grams of methamphetamine in the possession of the 43-year-old male. The drugs were seized, and the male was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 11th, 2025.
