Police News Release - October 6th, 2025

Sexual Assault

On October 5th at approximately 7:14 a.m., Brandon Police Service (BPS) received a report of a sexual assault involving an 18-year-old female victim. The incident reportedly took place during a party in the 600 block of 8th Street.

After returning home, the victim disclosed the assault to her mother, and police were contacted. Officers accompanied the victim to Brandon Regional Health Centre to receive medical care. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to contact the Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345.

 

Arrest Warrant  

On October 5th at 1:24 p.m. a 35-year-old female attended BPS to turn herself in as she had an Endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Assault). She was released via Undertaking with a court date of November 3rd, 2025.

 

Assault

On October 5th at approximately 12:02 p.m., Brandon Police were notified by a family member of an assault in progress in the 1600 block of McTavish Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined that both individuals involved—a 15-year-old male and a 15-year-old female—had assaulted each other. Both youths were arrested, charged with assault, and later released on Undertakings. Notifications were issued to the parents of each youth.

The 15-year-old female is scheduled to appear in court on December 16th, 2025, while the 15-year-old male is scheduled for December 23rd, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On October 5th at 10:14 a.m. police officers conducted a persons stop in the 100 block of 10th Street with a 38-year-old male. The male had an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply Release Order). He was arrested, held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning.

On October 5th at approximately 12:06 p.m., while attending an unrelated matter in the 1600 block of McTavish Avenue, Brandon Police located an 18-year-old female with an outstanding Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest related to Failure to Attend Court. She was taken into custody and held in BPS detention cells to appear in court the following morning.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order / Ticket Unstamped Tobacco

On October 5th at 9:08 a.m. police were called to the 100 block of 16th Street regarding a dispute between a 34-year-old female and the landlord. Upon investigation it was found that the female was under court order to reside at a specific address in Winnipeg. During the interaction three packages of unmarked tobacco were located. The packages were seized, and a violation ticket was issued for possessing fewer than 25 units of unmarked tobacco. The female was taken to BPS detention cells and held for court.

 

IPDA / Disorderly Conduct on a Licensed Premises

On October 5th at 6:53 p.m. police were called to an establishment in the 1200 block of 18th Street where a male patron was refusing to leave the business after being asked to do so. He was said to be causing a disturbance by yelling, making a scene and being disrespectful to the servers, as they had cut him off from alcohol. Police attended and the highly intoxicated 41-year-old male was arrested and taken to BPS detention cells. He will be released once sober.

 

Warrant for Arrest

On October 5th an Endorsed Warrant (Failure to Comply Probation) was executed on Brandon Correctional Centre inmate, 31-year-old male. The male remains in custody and a court date of October 6th was set.

 

IPDA

On October 5th at 10:46 p.m. an officer initiated a walkthrough of an establishment in the 000 block of 10th Street and located a highly intoxicated male patron who could not care for himself. The 41-year-old male was taken to BPS and held in detention cells. He will be released once sober.
