Police News Release - October 4th, 2025

Warrants/Intoxicated Persons/Breach of Peace

Within the past 24 hrs, 3 individuals have been arrested for outstanding warrants and 3 due to public intoxication or breach of peace.

Break and Enter to Business

On the morning of 2025-10-03, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business located in the 200 block of Pacific Avenue.  Security video revealed that overnight a male suspect had smashed the window to the business and gained entry to the building for a significant period of time, damaging property and then eventually leaving with several items.  The 26-year-old suspect was later located by police nearby and lodged for court on 2025-10-04 for the charges of Break, Enter and Theft, Mischief to Property Under $5000, Disguise with Intent and Failure to Comply with release order.

Possess Weapon Dangerous

On 2025-10-03 at 1320 hrs, police attended to the Provincial Building (340 9th Street) as a male was acting erratically and suspected to be in possession of a knife.  A search of the 35-year-old male revealed him to be in possession of a hunting knife and in violation of a probation order which prohibits him from possessing knives.  The accused was lodged and will be released once sober with conditions to appear in court on 2025-12-08 for the charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous and Failure to Comply with Probation.

Theft of Motor Vehicle

On 2025-09-30 a GMG U-Haul truck was rented from a business in the 2000 block of Lyndale Drive.  The person renting the vehicle fraudulently utilized the identification of an unknowing second party, and the vehicle is still outstanding with Arizona license plate AM13601.

Armed Robbery

On 2025-10-03 at 1652 hrs, the loss prevention officer (lpo) to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reported to police that a female in the store was in possession of a handgun.  Police attended to the location within 2 minutes and without incident took into custody the female and male associate while they were exiting the business.  A search of the female's purse resulted in the seizure of a replica revolver handgun, and a cannister of bear spray in the possession of the male.  Investigation revealed that the loss prevention officer had confronted the female inside the business earlier about the contents concealed in her purse, whereby she produced an imitation revolver handgun and displayed it to employee, resulting in the loss prevention officer feeling threatened and permitting the female to leave the business with the stolen merchandise.  The 19-year old female has been lodged to appear for court on 2025-10-04 for the charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon.  The 26-year-old male has also been lodged for court on 2025-10-04 for the charges of Possession of a Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Theft Under $5000, Failure to Comply with Release Order and Failure to Comply with Probation.
