Police News Release - October 28th, 2025

Sexual Assault

On May 2nd, 2025, a sexual assault was reported against a 29-year-old male for assaulting a 26-year-old female. Both parties provided statements, and a Crown opinion was requested. On October 27th, 2025, the Crown authorized charges. The 29-year-old male was located, arrested, and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for court in the morning.

 

IPDA

On October 27th at 11:26 p.m. police were dispatched to Cornell Bay for a reported disturbance. The intoxicated 24-year-old female causing issues was located and arrested. She was brought to BPS detention cells to be released once sober.

 

Assault

On October 28th at 1:45 a.m. police located a 36-year-old female in the 000 block of 10th Street who was wanted by police for an assault that took place earlier in the evening. The female was arrested and held in BPS detention cells for release once sober with a future court date of December 22nd, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

On October 28th at 4:16 a.m. police were called to a disturbance in Westaway Bay. A highly intoxicated 15-year-old male youth was kicking at a neighbour’s door trying to gain entry. No charges wanted. The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells, and will be released once sober.

 

Public Mischief

On October 27th at 12:50 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of 12th Street. The accused, 22-year-old male, was the operator of the vehicle and initially provided a false name to police. The male was arrested on this charge as well as for HTA (Highway Traffic Act) offences. He was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of January 15th, 2026.

 

Assault

On October 21st, 2025, police received a report of an assault that occurred at a restaurant in the 1900 block of Richmond Avenue. Investigation revealed that a 14-year-old female youth had challenged the victim, a 13-year-old female, to a fight. When the victim attempted to leave, she was grabbed by the hair, punched multiple times, pushed to the ground, and kicked. The incident was captured on video.

On October 27, 2025, the accused was arrested and later released on an Undertaking, with a court date set for December 23, 2025.
