Police News Release- October 27th, 2025

Warrant Execution x 2- Fail to Attend Court, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon & New Charges of: Mischief Under $5000, Resist Arrest, and Possession of a Weapon

 On October 26th at 09:45 AM, Police observed a male subject walking in the 300 block 8th St and recognized him from an incident from the previous day. The male was told he was being detained for an investigation, at which point he took off running. He was pursued on foot to the area of the 1000 Lorne Ave. The male ran into a residence in that area. Police gained permission to enter the home and located the accused within the residence. The 30-year-old male was arrested on the strength of two outstanding warrants. Once placed in the police cruiser the accused forcefully caused damage to the rear door of the police cruiser. In addition, the accused discarded a fanny pack while being pursued by officers which contained a cannister of bear spray. The accused was held in custody for the above noted charges, and he will attend Court on October 27th, 2025.

 Assault

 On October 25th, a female called to make a report that she was assaulted by a male during an incident in the early morning of October 25, 2025. The victim disclosed to police that the accused punched her in the leg. On October 26th, 2025 at 11:45 AM, the accused was located by police and Released on an Undertaking. The 40-year-old will attend Court in January for the above noted charge.

Warrant- Fail to Comply with Release Order & New Charges: Fail to Comply with Release Order, Possession of a Weapon

 On October 26th, 2025, Police received a report of a male walking through a parking lot in the 1200 block of 10th St carrying a large knife. Police located the subject, and he was known to have an outstanding warrant of arrest. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant, and the large knife was located in his backpack when he was searched incident to arrest. The 29-year-old male was held in custody to attend Court on October 27th, 2025.
