Police News Release - October 1st, 2025

Breach of the Peace
On September 30th at 11:40 a.m. police were called regarding a female causing a disturbance in the 300 block of 11th Street East. The 38-year-old female was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells where she was seen by in house paramedics. Due to concern over drugs that may be in her system she was released and transported to Brandon Regional Health Centre for further medical evaluation.
Failure to Comply Release Order x3
In August a request was received from Manitoba First Nations Police to execute an arrest warrant on a 36-year-old male. When Police attended to his residence on Braecrest he was found not to be home and in breach of three conditions of his Release Order. Since then, he was arrested on the Arrest Warrant and is currently held at Brandon Correctional Centre. On September 30th he was arrested for the breaches and will appear in court in the morning.
Failure to Comply Probation / Theft Under $5000 / Resist Arrest
On September 30th at approximately 2:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect nearby. As police approached, the male dropped the bag he was carrying and attempted to flee on foot. He was apprehended after a foot pursuit. He had been in possession of $203 worth of stolen merchandise. Further investigation revealed the 38-year-old male was under court-ordered conditions not to attend the store. He was arrested and transported to Brandon Police Service detention cells, where he was held for court in the morning.
Assault
On September 30th at approximately 4:16 p.m., a 32-year-old male attended BPS on an unrelated matter. During the interaction, it was discovered the male had an outstanding Endorsed Warrant for Arrest.
He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking. A court date has been set for October 30th, 2025.
Failure to Comply Undertaking
On September 30th at 8:28 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of Princess Avenue. A 41-year-old male occupant of the vehicle was arrested as he was to have no contact with another passenger. He was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of December 8th, 2025.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On September 30th at 8:54 p.m. police were called to a gas station located in the 800 block of 18th Street North due to an intoxicated male who wouldn’t leave and was causing a disturbance. The 36-year-old male Winnipeg resident had been wandering into traffic also. He was arrested and held in BPS detention cells until sober.
Expired License & Unstamped Tobacco leads to Possession of Meth Charge
On October 1st at 2:31 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop at 1st Street and Park Avenue. The driver, 57-year-old male, had an expired driver’s license. Police observed two packages of unstamped tobacco which led to the discovery of meth in the vehicle also. The driver was arrested and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 11th, 2025.
Failure to Comply Undertaking x2 / Possession of Weapon / Disguise with Intent
On October 1st at 3:57 a.m. police conducted a pedestrian stop in the 1600 block of 6th Street with a male who was wearing a red mask. The 28-year-old male was found to be in possession of a box cutter and replica pistol/BB gun contrary to his release conditions. The male was arrested and held for court in the morning.
