Police News Release - November 5th, 2025

Possess Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material / Distribution Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material

As a result of a Cybertip, Brandon Police Service Major Crimes Section began a child sexual abuse and exploitation investigation resulting in a search warrant being executed on Poplar Drive. On November 4th, 2025, a 31-year-old male was charged and later released via Undertaking with a court date of January 15th, 2025.

 

Failure to Comply Probation x2

On November 4th police attended a home in Westaway Bay regarding a wellness check. It was found that a 26-year-old male was in the presence of a female whom he was on orders not to be around or communicate with. He was arrested and held in BPS (Brandon Police Service) detention cells for court in the morning.

 

Break, Enter and Commit / Theft of a Motor Vehicle over $5000

Further follow up to an original file from September 2nd, 2025, has resulted in new charges confirming that a 31-year-old male committed a Break, Enter and Theft of a motor vehicle (which was recovered on the date of the theft.) On the morning of November 4th, BPS members attended to Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) and arrested the accused on the new charges. He will appear in court in the AM.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Both individuals were later released via Appearance Notice with future court dates.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order x2 / Resist Arrest

On November 4th at approximately 2:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the Town Center for a report of a disturbance involving individuals refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, officers located a highly intoxicated 30-year-old male who was found to be breaching his court-ordered conditions not to attend the location. The male resisted arrest but was safely taken into custody. He was taken to the BPS detention facility and held for court in the morning.

 

Breach of the Peace

Police were called to the 700 block of Princess Avenue to assist with a female causing a disturbance at a local establishment. The individual refused to leave the property when requested and became increasingly agitated. She was subsequently arrested and transported to the BPS detention facility. The female will be released once she has calmed down.
