Police News Release - November 20th, 2025

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. One was held in custody for court, and one was released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Theft Under $5000
On October 2nd, two females stole approximately $100 worth of cosmetics from a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. On November 5th, police received surveillance video and the suspect was identified. On November 19th the 17-year-old female was located and arrested. She was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 27th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000
On November 19th at 4:52 p.m., a police officer apprehended a male at the south doors of a business in the 1800 block of 18th Street North as he attempted to flee the store with a stolen bench grinder concealed in his backpack (valued at approximately $100). Employees had noticed the suspicious shopper and contacted police. The male was arrested, charged, and later released on an Undertaking with a court date set for February 2nd, 2026.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On November 19th, just before 9:00 p.m., police were called to the 800 block of Lorne to assist with a 73-year-old male who was found passed out. The male was not in a condition to care for himself and had refused transport by ambulance. He agreed to spend the night in BPS cells for his safety and will be released once sober.
