Warrants Executed

On Friday morning, October 31st, Police attended to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd St for a 911 call that was disconnected. Upon attending a 43-year-old male was found to have an outstanding Warrant for his arrest for Theft Under $5,000. He was held in the Brandon Police Service (BPS) cells to appear in Court in the morning.

 

Breach of Court Order

Just before midnight on October 31st, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Victoria Ave. One of the passengers was found to be on a Release Order with the condition not to communicate with one of the other people in the vehicle and further bound by a condition not to consume alcohol. The 32-year-old female was held at BPS and then released on an Undertaking with a scheduled Court appearance in January.

 

Identity Fraud leads to Charges

In April of this year, Police received a complaint from the victim after he had discovered that his roommate had used his identity to fraudulently obtain a loan in his name. The investigation revealed that the roommate had falsified documents to receive a loan in the amount of $7,000.  The 28-year-old male suspect was charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Identity Fraud and released on an Undertaking to appear in Court in January.  

 

Breach of Peace

In the last 24 hours 5 people were arrested and lodged at BPS for Breach of Peace.

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

In the last 24 hours 4 people were held at BPS due to their level of intoxication and having no responsible person to turn them over to.
