Police News Release - November 18th, 2025

Break and Enter 

On November 17th at 7:39 p.m. police responded to a report of a suspect who had kicked in a church door in the 400 block of 13th Street. A 23-year-old male was located inside and arrested. He was held in custody at Brandon Police Service (BPS) and will attend court in the morning on November 18th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours, three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were held at BPS detention unit to be released once sober/calmed down.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest.

 

Unlawfully at Large

A 49-year-old male was initially picked up on Sunday evening on an Unendorsed Parole Warrant for Unlawfully at Large. Due to health concerns, he was taken to hospital for care. At 11:45 a.m. hospital staff called to state he was being discharged and medically cleared. Arrangements were made with Parole, and the male was taken straight to Brandon Correctional Centre which is where he will appear for court.

 

Possession of a Weapon / Arrest Warrant

At approximately 2:57 p.m. on November 17th, police received a report from a motorist traveling northbound on the Thompson Bridge who stated that a teenaged male had pointed what appeared to be a handgun at him. The youth then reportedly pointed the object at another boy who was with him.

The two suspects were last seen walking northbound toward the Corral Centre. Officers responded immediately and located a 15-year-old male and a 14-year-old male near Kirkcaldy Drive and 18th Street North. Both youths were taken into custody without incident. The reported handgun was determined to be a plastic revolver-style cap gun. A subsequent search revealed that the 14-year-old was carrying a 12-inch knife concealed in his waistband, and the 15-year-old was found to have a hammer in his waistband. It was also confirmed that the 15-year-old was wanted on an Unendorsed Warrant. The youths were both released via Undertakings.

The 14-year-old faces a Possession of a Weapon charge with a court date of January 27th, 2026.

The 15-year-old faces charges of Possession of a Weapon and prior Warrant Charges of Assault with a Weapon, Robbery with Offensive Weapon, and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. He has a court date of December 16th, 2025, for the Warrant and for the new charge a court date of February 3rd, 2026.
