Police News Release - March 5th, 2026

Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)/ Breach of the Peace 

In the past 24 hours Patrol arrested four individuals for Breach of the Peace and one for PDCIPA. All individuals were highly intoxicated, arrested, brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells, and will be released once sober. 

 

Arrest Warrants Executed and Held for Court

On March 4th at around 1600hrs, Patrol conducted a traffic stop and arrested a male who was wanted for failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order and failing to attend court.  He was lodged in BPS cells to appear in court.

 

While patrolling on foot, members of the Patrol section located and arrested a female who was wanted for failing to comply with the conditions of her probation order.  She was held in BPS cells to appear in court.

 

Released on Undertaking

On March 4th Patrol section responded to a 911 call about a physical fight at a residence. Upon arrival two people were arrested and charged for assaulting each other.  They were both released on Undertakings with court dates in May 2026.

On March 4th, Patrol Section concluded an investigation and arrested a male for theft of a cell phone which had been stolen on March 2nd.   The male was released on an undertaking to appear in court in May 2026.

 

Stolen and Recovered Vehicles

During the early morning hours of March 5th, a Brandon resident reported that their vehicle had been stolen from a business parking lot. The vehicle has not yet been located.  Vehicle: is a Grey 2020 Kia Sedona with MB licence Plate: SANGEES.

On March 4-5th Patrol Section located and recovered two other previously stolen vehicles.  Investigations are continuing and no charges have been laid at this time.
