Police News Release - March 4th, 2026

Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)/ Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and one for PDCIPA. All individuals were highly intoxicated, arrested, brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells, and will be released once sober.

 

Theft Under $5000

On March 3rd, 2026, at approximately 9:12 a.m., police received a report of a theft from a business located in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue in Brandon. The investigation determined that a female suspect had been stealing merchandise from the business on multiple occasions between December 18th, 2025, and March 1st, 2026. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be approximately $500. Video surveillance was obtained and reviewed by police, and the suspect was identified.

On March 3rd, 2026, a 60-year-old female was arrested and charged in connection with the investigation. She was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 11th, 2026.

 

Failure to Comply Undertaking x2

On March 2nd, 2026, police conducted a curfew check on a 22-year-old male who was found not to be at his residence, contrary to the conditions of his Undertaking.

At approximately 7:58 p.m. on March 3rd, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Park Avenue and the male was identified as an occupant of the vehicle. During the interaction, he advised officers that he no longer resides at the address listed on his Undertaking, stating he had been kicked out of the residence. The male was arrested for breaching his release conditions and lodged in BPS detention cells to appear in court on the morning of March 4th, 2026.
