Police News Release-March 20th, 2026
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Both were released by way of an Appearance Notice with future court dates.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for Breach of the Peace. All individuals were intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the vicinity in which they were in. They will be released once sober.
Breach of Probation-Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)
Following an investigation on March 18th, 2026, a 15-year-old female was arrested for breaching her curfew. She was released by way of an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on May 26th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000
On March 18th, 2026, at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of 2 shoplifters at a business in the 900 block of 18th street N. Police located and arrested the 43-year-old male and the 32-year-old female on March 19th, 2026. They were both released to appear in court on May 28th, 2026, on a charge of Theft Under $5000.
Assaultx3/Assault Cause Bodily Harm/Assault with a Weapon/Possession of a Weapon
On March 14th, 2026, Police responded to a report of a male being threatened by another male while at a business in the 700 block of 10th Street. The male suspect brandished a large kitchen knife and assaulted the victim. The suspect had fled prior to Police arrival. The suspect was identified and located on March 19th, 2026. The 20-year-old male was arrested, held at BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning. The male was also arrested/charged for Assault x2, from an unrelated incident that occurred on February 28th, 2026, and will also appear on those charges.
