Protective Detention + Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested due to their levels of intoxication. They will be released once sober and able to care for themselves.
Assault
On March 18th at 1:23 p.m. a 43-year-old female reported that she attended her ex’s home to speak to him, and he punched her in the face. The 42-year-old male was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a future court date of May 28th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000 x3
On March 18th, police received a report of a theft at a business located in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. A 55-year-old female, known to the establishment, was identified as having stolen approximately $45 worth of merchandise. She had reportedly engaged in similar behavior on previous occasions, stealing some items while paying for others. Police subsequently located and arrested the individual. She was later released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on May 28th, 2026.
Assault
On the morning of March 18th, a 35-year-old male attended BPS and reported that he had just assaulted his 32-year-old fiancé by punching her in the face. Police attended the home and confirmed the incident with the female who had a swollen eye. The male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells to attend court in the morning on March 19th, 2026.
Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested on the strength of his Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest. The 47-year-old male was arrested at his home in the 600 block of 9th Street, brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on March 19th, 2026.
Firearms and Possession Charges
On March 18th at 5:48 p.m. police were called to a business in the 800 block of 18th Street as three customers were extremely intoxicated and believed to have stolen something. The threesome was located nearby outside the store. Two were sent on their way upon returning a few items while the third, a 42-year-old male, was found to be in possession of a loaded sawed-off rifle, bear spray, and loose ammunition for the firearm. The male is on a mandatory lifetime firearms prohibition. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on March 19th, 2026. Charges include Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possess Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x2, Possession of Weapon x2 (firearm and bear spray), Breach of Undertaking x3, and Possess Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition.
