Police News Release - March 12th, 2026

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested for Breach of Peace. They were brought to BPS detention cells to be released in the morning.

 

Tire Vandalism in South Brandon

On the morning of March 11th, many residents in the south end of Brandon woke to find the tires of their vehicles had been slashed. At this time, 72 incidents have been reported.

Police are asking anyone who may have video footage (security cameras, dashcams, etc.) from the area to please upload it using the QR code provided. Officers are working diligently to identify those responsible, and the situation remains under investigation.

Armed Robbery / Possession of a Weapon / Carrying Concealed Weapon

On March 11th at 1:57 p.m., a store in the 300 block of 18th Street North reported being robbed at knifepoint. The suspect stole a $10 sandwich. With the assistance of video surveillance and a suspect description, police were able to quickly locate the individual crossing the Thompson Bridge. A knife was found concealed in his jacket pocket.

The 44-year-old male was highly intoxicated at the time. He was arrested and held in BPS detention cells to attend court.

 

Utter Threats

On March 10th at approximately 9:00 a.m., police responded to a place of employment in the 300 block of 9th Street for a report of a disturbance. A male had entered the building and uttered threats.

On March 11th at approximately 3:20 p.m., police located the suspect in the 400 block of 9th Street. A persons stop was conducted, and the 33-year-old male was arrested and brought to BPS for processing. He was later released on an Undertaking with a future court date of May 7th, 2026.

 

Arrest Warrants

On March 11th two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. One was held for court while the other remained in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order x2

On March 12th at 1:28 a.m., a vehicle stop was conducted in the 1600 block of 3rd Street. A 35-year-old female within the vehicle was found to be bound by a curfew condition as well as a reside clause for an address where she no longer lives.

The female was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. She will attend court in the morning.

 

Assault

On March 12th at 12:32 a.m., a 33 male attended BPS to report that he had been assaulted by his ex-partner, a 34-year-old female. The female was reported to have punched the male in the face and pulled his beard during an argument.

Police located the female at her residence, where she was arrested and charged accordingly. She was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of May 21st, 2026.
