Police Media Release - June 28th, 2025

Fight 

At 5:56PM, police were called to a fight in progress in front of a central Brandon address.  On arrival it was determined to be a consensual fight between two intoxicated females.  There were no injuries, one woman was turned over to family and the second, a 19y/o woman was held in custody as there was no one to turn her over to.  She will be released when sober.

Robbery

 At 2:42AM, a call was received from a resident downtown claiming he had been bear sprayed and his bicycle was stolen.  The suspect was known to the victim.  Police attended the area, although they didn’t recover the bicycle, the suspect was located in obvious distress as he had been affected by his own bear spray.  He was arrested and charged with robbery. The 39y/o man will be released when sober with a court date.

Breach of Conditions/ Intoxicated person

 At 3:42AM, police were called to a disturbance at a north end motel.   An intoxicated 43y/o man was located and found to be bound by court conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol and required to maintain a daily curfew.  He was arrested and held for court.

At 4:03AM, a downtown resident advised there was a male on the fire escape knocking on the windows and yelling.  A highly intoxicated 26 y/o man was located on the roof of the building.  He was arrested without incident and held until sober.
