Police News Release - June 30th, 2026

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were held in custody at Brandon Police Service (BPS) and one was released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were brought to BPS detention cells to be released in the morning.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested due to their intoxication levels. They will be released once sober.
Firearms, Drugs and Failure to Comply
On June 29th at 4:26 p.m. police were called to the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue for a disturbance. A 26-year-old male, found to be the primary cause of issues, was arrested. Further investigation revealed that the male was in possession of a hunting knife, a sawed-off rifle with the serial # and model # ground off, a box of ammunition, 5.84 grams of cocaine, .41 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and unused baggies.
The male was charged with Unauthorized Possession of Firearms, Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Weapon, Failure to Comply Release Order x2, Failure to Comply Probation, Possession for Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, and Possession of Meth. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells and held for court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.
Carry Concealed Weapon / Possession of Dangerous Weapon
On June 29th at 6:50 p.m. police were called to a business in the 000 block of 9th Street due to a male refusing to leave when asked to do so. The 28-year-old male was found to be highly intoxicated and was arrested. The male was in possession of a knife. The male was brought to BPS detention cells and will be released via Undertaking once sober. He has a future court date of September 3rd, 2026.
At 9:28 p.m. a person’s check was conducted in the 100 block of 11th Street with a 19-year-old male. The male was arrested on the same charges as above. The male was later released via Undertaking with a future court date of September 10th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Undertaking
One June 30th at 2:38 a.m. a 54-year-old male was stopped in the 2100 block of McDonald Avenue. He was arrested for Breach of Curfew. He was held in BPS detention cells to appear in court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Fraud x3
On June 29th at 10:37 a.m. a 36-year-old male was arrested for causing a disturbance at a business in the 000 block of 10th Street. He originally was lodged for Breach of the Peace, but while in cells an incident was reported where a wallet and contents were stolen out of a vehicle. The stolen debit card had been used at three convenient store locations. Video surveillance confirmed it was this same male responsible. The male was charged and held for court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.
Use Counterfeit Money
A 28-year-old male used a counterfeit $50 bill to purchase a balaclava from a store at Brandon Shoppers Mall on June 29th. It wasn’t until after the transaction had occurred and the suspect had left that the fraudulent bill was identified. Video surveillance helped police identify the male. Upon locating the male, he was found to be in possession of the balaclava. The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells and held for court in the morning on June 30th, 2026.
