Police News Release - June 30th, 2025

Breach of the Peace

On June 29th at 6:46PM a report of a disturbance in Westaway Bay came in. Police attended and found a highly intoxicated 34-year-old female to be the cause of issues. She was arrested, held in detention cells and will be released once sober.

 

Breach of Release Order

On June 29th at 7:50PM staff at a business on Willowdale Crescent reported two males loitering in the parking lot making customers feel uneasy. Police attended and located the males. One of the males was in possession of a knife which was against his Release Order. He was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on June 30th, 2025. The other male was sent on his way.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On June 29th at 9:31PM Police were called to a disturbance in the 1600 block of 18th Street where two individuals were causing a disturbance and acting aggressively to others. Police attended and located the duo. The 29-year-old male was highly intoxicated by drug. The 53-year-old female was sent on her way. The male was arrested and held in detention cells to prevent further issues. He will be released once sober.

 

Resist Arrest / Breach of Release Order

On June 30th at 1:20AM Police attempted a persons check in Princess Park with a young male who was acting suspiciously. The male ran from Police. A short foot pursuit ensued. The 15-year-old male was found to be breaching a Release Order which ordered him to abstain from the consumption or possession of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. The male was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning. A notice to his mother was served.

 

Breach of the Peace

On June 30th at 1:20AM while Police were dealing with a separate incident, a 50-year-old male kept interfering with Police. He was arrested and held in detention cells. He will be released in the morning.

 

Stolen Motor Vehicle

A 2012 white 4-door Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 500 block of 22nd Street between June 28th at 5:00PM and 7:30AM the following morning.

Arrest Warrants

On June 29th at 3:30PM a report of two suspicious males was reported near the 3600 block of Centennial Blvd. Police attended and located the two individuals – a 37-year-old male and a 48-year-old male. The 37-year-old male had an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply with SOIRA – Sexual offender information registration act).  He was arrested and held in custody to attend court in the morning on June 30th, 2025.  The 48-year-old male had an Endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply Probation). He was arrested and later released with a court date of July 31st, 2025.

 

Assault

On June 29th at 4:56PM Police were informed of an assault that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of 16th Street. Police attended and a 45-year-old male was arrested and charged for assaulting his 27-year-old female partner. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date of September 11th, 2025.
