Police News Release - June 27th, 2025

Break and Enter
On June 26th staff arriving to work in the 1600 block of 12th Street noticed items missing and moved. Upon reviewing video surveillance, a male was seen entering the factory at 11:18PM. He took a tool, radio and prescription safety glasses. The suspect wore a facemask and hood. This incident remains under investigation.

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two Arrest Warrants were executed.
Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP)
On June 26th at 8:28PM Police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of 10th Street. The driver, 73-year-old male, blew fails and was issued an IRP. The male also received tickets for not having a valid license or vehicle registration. The vehicle was towed.
Assault
On June 26th at 10:04PM Police attended a park in the 1400 block of Princess Avenue where a 22-year-old male had been seriously assaulted. He was found unconscious but breathing. The male had been lured to the park where he was then jumped. He was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. This situation remains under investigation.
Breach of the Peace
On June 26th at 9:44PM BPS members were flagged down in the 1200 block of McTavish Avenue and made aware of an intoxicated 15-year-old male who was causing a disturbance in the home. His behaviour was escalating, and he was removed from the home. The male will be turned over to a parent in the morning once sober.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On June 26th at 11:25PM Police responded to a request for assistance with a male who was laying on the road in the 600 block of Princess Avenue East. Attempts to find someone to turn him over to were negative. He was held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
