Police News Release - June 21, 2025

Highlights for the Past 24 Hours:

Assault / Breach of Conditions

 At 4:48 pm, a call was received of a female being assaulted by a male on the street in the 1000 block of 13^th St. Bystanders intervened and stopped the assault and the male left. The female victim disclosed the identity of the 25-year-old male, and he was arrested shortly after. The suspect was charged with assault and breach of undertaking for not abiding by his conditions to abstain from consuming alcohol and not to communicate with the victim. He was held in custody to appear in court in the morning.

Robbery 

At 9:38 pm, a call was received from a business in the 100 block of Victoria Ave E stating a female had attempted to steal some merchandise and then assaulted an employee who attempted to stop the theft. A 19-year-old female was identified as the suspect through video surveillance, and she was apprehended a short time later and charged with robbery and 4 counts of failing to comply with her probation order and 2 counts of failing to comply with her undertaking. The accused with appear in court in the morning.

Assault with a Weapon

On April 26^th, a male made a complaint that during an argument his girlfriend had held a knife to his throat hard enough to cut his neck making it bleed. The 22-year-old female suspect was arrested as a result of this investigation and was charged with assault with a weapon and was later released on an undertaking.
