Police News Release - June 19, 2025

Arrest Warrant / New Charge

On June 18th at 8:21PM Police were called to the 600 block of Lorne Avenue for a disturbance in a home caused by a no longer welcome female. Police attended to assist in removing the female and located her nearby the residence. The 25-year-old female was found to be wanted on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest (Contempt of Court). The female was arrested and received a ticket for consuming liquor in a public place as well as a new charge of Failure to Comply with Release Order X3.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On June 18th at 12:04PM BPS received reports of a highly intoxicated female being violent towards staff at a hotel in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue. Police attended and the 40-year-old female found to be the cause of issues was arrested and held at Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. She will be released once sober.

 

Robbery with Violence

On June 18th at 1:29PM an employee was punched twice in the face in the parking lot of their business location in the 200 block of 10th Steet. In the altercation, the employee’s keys fell to the ground. The suspect took the keys and ran off. A fellow coworker captured photos of the suspect and described the direction and location headed. Police were able to locate the male hiding on the roof of a nearby building. The 31-year-old male was still in possession of the employee’s keys. He was arrested, charged, and held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on June 19th, 2025. The keys were returned to the owner.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 18th at 3:11PM Police attended a hotel in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue and arrested a 39-year-old male on the strength of his Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Uttering Threats / Failure to Comply Undertaking). He was held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on June 19th, 2025.
