Police News Release - June 13, 2025

Assault Causing Bodily Harm / Assault by Choking

On the morning of June 12th Brandon Police Service (BPS) received a report of a 34-year-old male who when in a drunken argument with his girlfriend (32), assaulted her. Upon her attempting to leave the residence, he pinned her to the floor with his forearm across her throat and gave several elbow strikes to the face. The female’s face was noticeably bruised and swollen. Police located the male at his residence. He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with conditions. A court date is set for August 21st, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 12th at approximately 5:53PM there was a report of an intoxicated male in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was said to be throwing things around and being verbally aggressive to those passing by. Police officers arrived and located the 37-year-old male. He was arrested on the strength of his Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court, Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose).

The male was held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on June 13th, 2025.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On June 13th at 1:01AM while Police were attending Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) on an unrelated call, a 36-year-old male was located outside BRHC, lying on the curb. The male was intoxicated and taken inside to be medically cleared by hospital staff. He was not in a condition to care for himself and was taken to BPS and held in detention cells to be released once sober.

 

IPDA

On June 13th at 4:13AM police were called to Almond Crescent for reports of someone banging on the door. Officers attended and located an intoxicated 20-year-old female who was lost and had also thrown a sprinkler against the side of the home. The female was arrested, medically cleared and held in BPS detention cells until sober.
