Police News Release - July 4, 2026

Assault

On July 4, 2026, shortly before 1:00 am, police attended to a residence following a report that a female was causing issues and the homeowner wanted her removed.  The 22-year-old female had caused considerable damage to her parent’s home by smashing coffee cups and a TV.  She also assaulted her mother during the altercation where she needed to be restrained. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court on charges of Mischief Under $5000, Assault, and Breach of Peace Bond.

 

Disturbance

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 2:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing issues at a business in the 1100 block of 18th street.  The 19-year-old male was throwing bottles and trying to fight people.  When officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted and fled on foot before he was caught a short distance away.  He was found to be bound by a 10 pm daily curfew.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Resist Arrest, Breach of Release Order and Disorderly Conduct In a Licensed Premises (LGCCA).

 

Possess Weapon

On July 3, 2026, shortly after 7:00 pm, a 43-year-old male was arrested in the 500 block of 12th street after police discovered he was in possession of a knife contrary to his release conditions.  He will appear in court on Septembe2 Serve and Protect!r 14, 2026, on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Other Arrests

Over the past 24 hours, seven individuals were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service due to their behavior caused by drug or alcohol consumption, during separate incidents.

 

Arrest Warrants

Over the past 24 hours, one individual was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant.
