Police News Release - July 3rd, 2025

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On June 22nd there was a report of a hit and run with a vehicle that was later reported stolen. A 15-year-old male was identified as an occupant. On July 2nd he was located by police and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The male was released on an Undertaking to a guardian with a court date of September 2nd, 2025.

 

Possession of a Weapon / Resist Arrest / Failure to Comply Probation

On July 2nd at 9:59PM police were called to a disturbance in the 1600 block of McTavish Avenue. The 20-year-old male was intoxicated and said to be acting aggressively towards family members. Upon police arrival the male proceeded to run at an officer while reaching and grabbing for a large kitchen knife from his waistband. He then changed direction and ran towards the residence. The male was taken into custody by members in the doorway of the residence. He was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on July 3rd, 2025.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On July 2nd Police received a report of a male acting erratically stumbling around a parking lot in the 3400 block of Park Avenue. Police attended and located a highly intoxicated 31-year-old male. He was arrested and held in BPS detention cells to be released once sober.

 

Break and Enter

On July 3rd at 12:15AM a call from a security company came in to police due to an alarm at a business in the 400 block of 10th Street. A secondary call came in from a keyholder stating that a woman broke into the building, took some items from the freezer and proceeded to the washroom. Police attended and arrested and charged a 26-year-old female with Break and Enter. She was brought to BPS, held in detention cells to be released in the morning on an Undertaking. A court date is set for September 11th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On July 3rd at 1:06AM police received a report of a suspicious person in the 1100 block of 20th Street who had been tossing rocks at a 2nd floor window of an apartment.  Upon police being called the suspect ran. Police located the 29-year-old female who was found to be wanted on two endorsed Warrants of Arrest. An arrest was made, and she was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of August 18th, 2025. No damage was done to the property.

 

Break and Enter

On July 2nd at 7:56AM police were contacted regarding a Break and Enter in the 1500 block of Braecrest Drive that had occurred overnight. It is believed that two persons and a vehicle were required to remove the large and heavy safe. Entry was made by smashing the front door. This incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Brandon Police at (204)-729-2345. 

 

IPDA

On July 2nd at 11:51AM a male was noticed by Police in a highly intoxicated state in the 800 block of Lorne Avenue. With negative results turning him over to someone, the 62-year-old male was held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.

 

Arrest Warrant

On July 2nd at 12:31PM Police conducted a traffic stop near 17th Street and Rosser Avenue. An occupant of the vehicle was noted to have several Warrants for Arrest (Failure to Comply Probation / Failure to Attend Court x2).  The 39-year-old male was held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on July 3rd, 2025.

 

Assault

On July 2nd at 4:42PM Police were called to a domestic disturbance in White Swan Trailer Court. The altercation was captured on video where a 26-year-old male hit and pulled the hair of his partner, 25-year-old female. The male was arrested and later released on an Undertaking for court on September 8th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On July 2nd at 5:09PM a persons check was conducted in the 100 block of 6th Street. A 31-year-old male was arrested on the strength of his Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court). He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of July 31st, 2025.
