Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours two individuals were lodged in the Brandon Police Service detention cells under the PDCIPA. They were arrested and held to be released when sober.
Breach of Peace
In the last 24 hours four individuals were lodged in the Brandon Police Service detention cells for Breach of Peace. They were arrested and held to be released when sober.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested on the strength of their Warrant for Arrest. The 36-year-old male was held in custody at BPS and will attend court in the morning on July 2nd, 2026.
Assault x2
On July 1st at 3:36 p.m., police responded to a call from a female who was now walking in the 1500 block of 1st Street North. The 42-year-old female reported that her ex-boyfriend, 41-year-old male, had hit her in the face. Police located both individuals and the male alleged that the woman had also assaulted him by scratching his face. The male was sober and was released on an Undertaking with a court date of August 27th, 2026.
The female was highly intoxicated by drugs. She was arrested and held in BPS detention cells to be released on an Undertaking once sober. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 3rd, 2026.
