Police News Release - July 1st, 2025

Arrest Warrant
On June 30th at 12:33PM Police initiated a pedestrian stop in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. It was confirmed the male had a Warrant for his arrest (Failure to Attend Court). The 51-year-old male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of July 31st, 2025.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On June 30th at 8:24PM Police were called to the 1000 block of Rosser Avenue regarding an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Police attended and after several attempts to diffuse the situation, a 51-year-old male was arrested. He was held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
Assault Causing Bodily Harm
On June 30th, as a result of Crown opinion, a 40-year-old female was arrested and charged for Assault Causing Bodily Harm. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date of September 8th, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle
On June 30th at 11:16PM a report of an unknown male attempting to start a vehicle in the 8100 block of Richmond Avenue East came in to Police. Police attended and found the male to be in possession of a bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier in the evening. The 31-year-old male was arrested and held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning.
Vehicle Fire
On July 1st at 4:36AM 911 advised of a fire in the 300 block of Southern Avenue. A vehicle was fully engulfed which had spread to a garage and overheard hydro lines. Brandon Fire & Emergency Services (BFES) was on scene and Manitoba Hydro was notified. The incident remains under investigation.
Structure Fire
On July 1st at 6:04AM 911 advised of a detached garage fire in the 1300 block of 7th Street. BFES was on scene. Pieces of an empty box of fire starters were scattered near the garage. The fire is suspicious in nature and remains under investigation.
