Police News Release - July 13th, 2025

Possess Weapon/ Carry a Concealed Weapon
At 6:00AM Saturday morning, police attended an east end neighborhood in response to a woman attempting to steal a bicycle. Once located, the 31 y/o woman was found to be concealing brass knuckles. Brass knuckles are considered a prohibited weapon contrary to Section 84 of the Criminal Code of Canada. She was charged and released with a court date.
At 3:50PM, an employee at the Brandon Shoppers Mall reported a Bear Spray incident. An altercation occurred outside a business, one male produced bear spray and sprayed a second male. A 29 y/o of woman and her 2 y/o son were bystanders and exposed by the overspray. Fortunately, the woman was able to shield her son from most of the attack, minimizing his exposure to the spay. Two suspects fled the area prior to police arriving. Police located video of the suspects, and the situation is still under investigation.
Assault/ Fail to comply with conditions
At 9:43AM, police responded to a west end hotel for a disturbance. It was determined that two people were fighting in a room when a male dragged a female out into the hall by her hair. He was located and arrested. It was learned that he was currently bound by a court order not to communicate with her. The 29 y/o man was held for court.
At 1130AM, police were advised that a 31 y/o man was breaching his court ordered conditions by harassing his ex-girlfriend. Police attended and located the male who allegedly tried to force his way into her residence. He was arrested and held for court.
Intoxicated
During the past 24 hours, several people were arrested and held due to varying levels of intoxication. All were released when sober.
