Police News Release - January 27th, 2026

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours five individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Three were released via Appearance Notice while two were held for court in the morning.

 

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were held in BPS detention cells to be released once sober/calm.

 

Charges laid from May 2025 incident

Following an investigation into a robbery that occurred on May 18th, 2025, a 17-year-old male has been charged in connection with the incident. The robbery was reported to have occurred in the 1200 block of 10th Street, where a then 23-year-old male victim stated he was robbed at gunpoint. Through the course of the investigation, the youth was identified and is the final suspect to be charged in this matter; two other suspects have previously been arrested. At the time of the offence, the youth was in contact with three individuals, contrary to the conditions of his probation order.

He was already in custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre on an unrelated matter when he was charged with Armed Robbery and Failure to Comply Probation x3. He will appear in court in the morning.

 

Assault x2 / Uttering Threats

On January 26th at 11:01 p.m. a 47-year-old male who was facing charges of Assault x2 and Uttering Threats from an incident which occurred on January 18th, 2026, attended BPS. The male was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a court date of April 2nd, 2026.
