Breach of the Peace / IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On Sunday January 25th three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace, as well as two for IPDA. They will be released from Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells once sober/calm.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested on outstanding Warrants for Arrest. One individual was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court in Brandon on March 3rd, 2026. The second individual was also released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on February 10th, 2026, in Swan River, Manitoba.
Breach of Probation / Theft Under $5000
On January 25th, a 32-year-old male was observed by police in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. He was known to be arrestable in relation to a theft that occurred on January 23rd, 2026 at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was arrested for the theft and was found to be in possession of a knife, contrary to the conditions of his Probation Order, which prohibit him from possessing a weapon. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of April 9, 2026.
Assault / Mischief to Property / Breach of Probation Order
On January 25, police attended a residence in the 600 block of 16th Street in response to a report of domestic violence. The victim, a 31-year-old female, reported that she had been assaulted and punched in the face. Damage to a window was also noted. The suspect, a 20-year-old intoxicated male, had left the scene prior to police arrival but was later located at his residence on McTavish Avenue. He was arrested and held in custody for court the following morning. The male was on a no-contact order with the female at the time of the incident.
Assault / Utter Threats
On January 20th, a 38-year-old male was involved in an assault and uttered threats. On January 25th, the male attended Brandon Police Service aware of his charges and was arrested. He was later released with a future court date of April 13, 2026.
