Police News Release - January 14th, 2026

Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested on the strength of his Warrant for Arrest. The 40-year-old male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of March 26, 2026.
Assault
On January 13th at 10:40 p.m. police were called to a hotel in the 1100 block of 18th Street due to a disturbance in one of the rooms. Investigation led to charging a 37-year-old man with Assault on his wife. The male was highly intoxicated and brought to BPS detention cells to be released once sober on an Undertaking with a court date of March 23rd, 2026.
Obstruct Peace Officer / Arson
On January 13th Crown opinion was received directing the arrest of a 45-year-old male on charges of Obstruct Peace Officer and Arson. The male was located by police at his residence. He was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a court date of March 16th, 2026.
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm / Fail to Comply with Undertaking
On January 13th follow up charges were laid from an incident that occurred on May 18, 2025. An 18-year-old male, currently in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre, was charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Failure to Comply with an Undertaking. He will attend court on January 14th, 2026.
