Police News Release - January 12th, 2026

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On January 11th at approximately 4:45 p.m., a delivery driver reported that his vehicle was stolen after he left it running outside a business in the 300 block of 10th Street. At 7:12 p.m., officers located the vehicle in the 1500 block of McTavish Avenue. The incident remains under investigation.

 

Assault / Assault by Choking / Uttering Threats

On January 11th at 7:44 p.m. police responded to a report of a male hitting a female in a vehicle near the 1400 block of Van Horne. The first witness reports the female victim tried to get out, but the male driver drove away with her still in the vehicle.  A second call was also reported. Officers located the vehicle in the 2400 block of 24th Street. The female had visible bruises and a black eye. A 40-year-old male was arrested and later release via Undertaking with a court date of March 23, 2026.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 11th at 10:29 p.m. a 34-year-old female was arrested in the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue on the strength of three outstanding Warrants for Arrest. She was held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning.

 

Breach of the Peace / IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and one individual was arrested for IPDA. They will be released once sober.

 

Possession of Meth / Possession of a Weapon / Unstamped Tobacco

On January 12th at 2:38 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Park Avenue, police observed unstamped tobacco in the vehicle. The stop resulted in a 30-year-old female being charged for possession of methamphetamine and two folding knives, as well as for the possession of fewer than 25 units of unmarked tobacco contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of March 12th, 2026.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order / Driving Tickets  

On January 11th at approximately 1:38 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of 6th Street. The 31-year-old female driver was found to be in breach of a release order condition not to communicate with the 31-year-old male passenger. The female was arrested and held in custody for court the following morning. She was also issued tickets for driving without a valid driver’s license, driving without liability insurance, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
