Police News Release - February 26th, 2026

Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours eight individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Five of the eight were held for court while three were later released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours, four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. In each incident, the individuals were found to be highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance.
All four were arrested and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once they are calm and sober.
Uttering Threats / Criminal Harassment / Fraudulent Use of Credit Card
On February 24th, a woman reported that her former boyfriend had made threats toward her and her child. She also reported that he had made fraudulent transactions using her credit card.
On February 25th, the 22-year-old man was located and arrested in connection with the matter. He was subsequently released via Undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the courts on May 11th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Court Orders
On February 25th at 6:13 p.m., police received a report of a dispute at a residence in the 200 block of Douglas Street. Officers attended and learned that a 19-year-old woman at the residence was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. The woman was arrested for Failure to Comply with a Release Order (condition: do not consume alcohol). She was transported to BPS where she was held in detention cells to sober up. She will be released once sober via Appearance Notice with a court date of May 4th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On February 26th at approximately 3:31 a.m., police observed a female in the 1900 block of Queens Avenue who was known to be bound by a court-ordered curfew between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. When officers approached, the woman attempted to evade police by running into a nearby hotel. She was subsequently located and arrested for breaching her release order. She was transported to BPS detention cells and held to appear before court in the morning.
