Police News Release - February 19th, 2026

Failure to Comply Release Order / Possession of Meth

On February 18th at 8:21 a.m. police arrested a 30-year-old male in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue for having breached a No Contact Order with an employee of a business. Upon arrest the male was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. The male was brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells where he was held for court in the morning.

 

Arrest Warrant

On February 18th at 11:56 a.m. police located and arrested a 32-year-old male in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue who had a Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court x2 and Theft Under $5000). The male was brought to BPS detention cells where he was held for court in the morning.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On February 18th at approximately 1:58 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman standing in the middle of 1st Street North near Highway 1, attempting to wave down passing vehicles. The woman was not wearing boots or a jacket. Officers quickly located the intoxicated woman and transported her to BPS detention cells for her safety. She will be released once sober.

 

Failure to Comply Undertaking

On February 18th at approximately 8:07 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Douglas Street. A 45-year-old man was identified as the driver of the vehicle. A female passenger was found to be a person with whom he was bound by a No Contact condition. The man was arrested for breaching the condition and lodged in BPS detention cells. He was held for court on the morning of February 19th, 2026.

 

Breach of the Peace

On February 19th at 2:23 a.m. police received several calls stating a disturbance in the 3600 block of Centennial Avenue. Police attended and found a highly intoxicated 21-year-old male to be the cause of issues. The male was arrested, brought to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.

 

Breach and Possession Charges

On February 19th at approximately 1:36 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Willowdale Crescent and Silver Birch Drive. A 26-year-old male passenger was noted to be in possession of unstamped tobacco. Further investigation revealed he was also in possession of a small quantity of cocaine and a can of bear spray. The man was bound by conditions prohibiting the possession of weapons or drugs. He was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells, where he was held for court on the morning of February 19th, 2026.

Charges include Breach of Peace Bond, Breach of Release Order (x2), Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
