Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Both were later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of January 8th and January 16th, 2026.
IPDA (Intoxicated Person Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested due to their level of intoxication and associated behaviour. The first, a 22-year-old male, was causing a disturbance at a motel in the 1200 block of 1st Street North and had become aggressive toward others. The second individual, a 21-year-old female, was reported on Middleton Avenue, where officers located her lying on the ground, partially clothed and yelling. Both individuals were transported to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells and will be released once sober/calm.
Assault
On December 2nd at 2:02 a.m., police were called to the 700 block of Princess Avenue for a report of a female assaulting staff. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 23-year-old woman had entered the warming shelter, refused to identify herself, locked herself in a bathroom, and later confronted a female staff member by pushing her up against a door. The woman was arrested and later released on an Undertaking, with a court date scheduled for February 9, 2026.
Arrest Warrant
On December 1st a 41-year-old female attended BPS and turned herself in aware that there was a Warrant for her arrest (Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Failure to Attend Court). The female was processed and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of January 5th, 2026.
Traffic Stop Leads to Numerous Charges & Tickets
On December 1st, just before 2:00 p.m., BPS officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 9th Street after observing a vehicle with expired licence plates. Alcohol was visible inside the vehicle, prompting a further search. The male was arrested without incident and during further search officers located 21.95 grams of methamphetamine, several baggies, six cell phones, and two large knives.
The 37-year-old male driver was subsequently charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Weapon x2, and Failure to Comply with a Release Order X2 (No weapons/No alcohol). He was also issued four tickets for the following offences: operating an unregistered vehicle ($298), driving without motor vehicle liability insurance ($672), unlawful transportation of liquor in a motor vehicle ($237), and possession of fewer than 25 units of unmarked tobacco ($2542).
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the male was arrested and held in BPS detention cells pending a court appearance on the morning of December 2nd, 2025.
