Police News Release - December 16th, 2025

Break and Enter
On December 15, police received a report of a break and enter at a rental property located in the 000 block of 10th Street North. The incident is believed to have occurred between December 13 and December 15, 2025. The suspect gained entry by smashing a rear window, causing extensive damage. Items reported stolen include a washer and dryer set, lighting fixtures, flooring materials, and various tools. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345.
Breach of the Peace
On December 15 at approximately 2:32 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call on Cornell Bay. A 27-year-old male, who was highly intoxicated, was arrested to prevent the continuation of the behaviour. He was transported to Brandon Police Service detention cells, where he will be held until sober and then released.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Two were arrested and held for court in the morning on December 16th and one was released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Drug Trafficking Bust
On December 15, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1300 block of 26th Street based on information received from the BPS Organized Crime Section. The vehicle contained four occupants, all of whom were arrested and charged with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences, including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 13.12 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $1,300, and 5 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately $500. Police also seized $4,085 in Canadian currency. All cellular phones located within the vehicle were seized as part of the investigation.
A 39-year-old male was charged with CDSA Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine and cocaine), Possession of Proceeds of Crime, and Failure to Comply with a Release Order. He was held in custody at the BPS detention unit and is scheduled to appear in court the following morning, December 16th, 2025.
Three female occupants, aged 45, 30, and 29, were each charged with CDSA Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine and cocaine) and Possession of Proceeds of Crime. All three were later released on an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2026.
