Police News Release - December 10th, 2025

HANDGUN AND DRUGS OFF THE STREET AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

A 27-year-old was arrested for multiple charges including Assault Peace Officer, Possess Cocaine for the Purposes of Trafficking, and Possess a Restricted Weapon amongst other weapons related charges.

Police initiated a traffic stop where the accused was an occupant of the vehicle. During a search incident to arrest the accused slapped away the hands of the officer and attempted to flee. A short foot pursuit was initiated followed by a Taser deployment and arrest.

Located within the vehicle was a handgun with a loaded magazine and 30 grams of cocaine.  

The male will appear in court on these charges later today.

IN CUSTODY FOR COURT

A 47-year-old male attended BPS on an unrelated matter and was found to have an unendorsed warrant of arrest for theft under $5000. He was lodged at BPS awaiting a court appearance.

A 38-year-old male is in custody for disobeying his court orders. The male was on an order not to access the internet or to have contact with individuals under the age of 16 was found to be breaching both of these conditions.

A 23-year-old male was arrested for assault, assault by choking, resist arrest and failing to comply with the conditions of his undertaking after a report of an assault in the north end of Brandon. The male was lodged and will appear on these charges later today.

Four individuals will remain in custody and released when sober from the following incidents:

A 20-year-old female found highly intoxicated at a business near 26^th Street and Willowdale.

A 37-year-old male was located highly intoxicated in the 200 block of 18^th Street.

A 42-year-old male and a 28-year-old female were grossly intoxicated and belligerent at a business in the 1000 block of 18^th Street.
