Suspicious Death
The Brandon Police Service extends our thoughts to the family and loved ones affected by the sudden loss of a 35-year-old local Brandon man.
On August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:26 AM, officers responded to a report of a deceased individual located in the yard of a residence in the 600 block of 9th Street. Upon arrival, the circumstances and injuries observed led officers to treat the death as suspicious.
The deceased has been identified as a 35-year-old male. His identity is not being released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the BPS Major Crimes Section. An autopsy has been ordered to assist in determining the cause of death.
No further details are available at this time.

Failure to Attend Court
On August 7th at 8:48PM a pedestrian stop was conducted with a male in the 500 block of Princess Avenue. The 35-year-old male was confirmed to have an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court). He was arrested, held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. He will attend court in the morning on August 8th, 2025.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On August 2nd Police conducted a curfew check on a 14-year-old female and found that she was not home. On August 7th she was located at her residence and released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of September 2nd, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
On August 8th at approximately 2:22AM police were called to a hotel in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue due to a report of two people fighting. A 44-year-old female, who was found to be the primary cause of issues, was arrested and taken to BPS. She will stay in the detention cells and be released in the morning.
Motor Vehicle Accident
At approximately 6:45 AM on August 7, 2025, 911 dispatch advised of a single-vehicle rollover on the north service road just north of Highway 1. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle resting on its passenger side in the south ditch. Surveillance footage confirms the vehicle was traveling westbound on the service road when it drifted into the south ditch, struck an approach, became airborne, and flipped end-over-end before coming to a stop. The lone occupant, a 25-year-old female, was able to exit the vehicle through the sunroof. Emergency Medical Services transported the driver to hospital in serious condition. Family members were notified and attended the hospital. At the time of this report, the driver remains in the Intensive Care Unit at BRHC. Reported injuries include two fractured vertebrae and a punctured lung.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Theft Under $5000
On August 7th at 10:43AM a 25-year-old male entered a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue and stole $50 worth of merchandise. The male was recognized and located by police at his residence. He was arrested and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of October 9th, 2025.
Robbery / Possession of Meth
On August 7th at 11:10AM an unrelated vehicle stop was conducted and a passenger in the vehicle was identified by a BPS officer as the suspect in a prior robbery that occurred on July 30th in the 100 block of 6th Street. The 45-year-old male was arrested and held in BPS for questioning. He was released via Undertaking with a court date of October 9th, 2025.
Arrest Warrants
In the last 24 hours two warrants were executed on individuals.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the last 24 hours two individuals were arrested and held in BPS detention cells due to intoxication levels. They will be released once sober.
