Police News Release - August 26th, 2025

Breach of the Peace

On August 25th at 11:30AM police were called to the 100 block of Regent Crescent due to an intoxicated male on the property who was refusing to leave.  The 26-year-old male was highly intoxicated and taken into custody. He stayed in BPS detention cells until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours there have been two individuals arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest.

- A 32-year-old female arrested and held in BPS detention cells due to intoxication level. To be released once sober with a court date of September 22nd, 2025 (Warrant – Failure to Attend Ident).

- A 40-year-old female who was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of October 3rd, 2025. (Warrant – Theft Under and new charge of Resist Arrest).

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) / Breach of the Peace

During night shift one individual was arrested and held in detention cells for IPDA and three individuals (different incidents), were arrested and held for Breach of the Peace. They will be released once sober.

 

Mischief Under $5000 / Uttering Threats

On August 25th, police responded to an incident in the 600 block of Princess Avenue East involving a dispute between neighbours. A 57-year-old male threw a traffic pylon at a vehicle being driven by his neighbour, striking the passenger side and causing damage to the paint and body panel. The individual also reportedly made verbal threats during the altercation.

Officers attended the scene, and the male was subsequently charged. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 3, 2025.
