Police News Release - August 11th, 2025

Breach of the Peace
On August 10th at approximately 10:25 AM, police responded to a report of a male in the Corral Centre parking lot observed looking into vehicles while holding a crowbar. Officers located and arrested the individual without incident. He was held in a Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cell until he was sober.
Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours two Arrest Warrants were executed.
Mischief Under $5000
On August 10th at 2:48 PM police conducted a stop with a cyclist in the area of 15th Street and Louise Avenue. Due to having an Outstanding Warrant (Mischief Under $5000) the 25-year-old male was arrested. He was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of September 8th ,2025.
Assault
On August 10th at approximately 2:05 PM, police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of 6th Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 35-year-old male and a 41-year-old female, each alleging that they had been assaulted by the other. Minor injuries were observed, including a bite mark on the male’s chest and two small facial lacerations on the female. As the female was the sole leaseholder of the residence, the male was removed from the premises. Both individuals were arrested and subsequently released on an Undertaking, with a court appearance scheduled for October 27th, 2025.
Assault Peace Officer
On August 10th a police officer attended Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) and arrested a 26-year-old male due to incident that occurred on May 31st, 2025. The inmate had thrown hot coffee on an officer’s arm which was captured on video surveillance. The male was arrested and released via Appearance Notice with a court date of August 11th, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
On August 11th at 4:36AM police were called to a disturbance in Cornell Bay. An intoxicated 44-year-old male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
