Police News Release - April 8th, 2026

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours, three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. One individual was held in custody for a court appearance in the morning, while the other two were released on an Appearance Notice and Undertaking with future court dates scheduled.

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were arrested and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to prevent the continuation of their behaviour.  They will be released once calm/sober.

Assault

On April 7^th, just prior to 7:00 p.m., a report of an assault was received, followed by a second call at 7:01 p.m. Police attended Shoppers Mall, where it was determined that an ongoing dispute between female youths had escalated. A 14-year-old female allegedly grabbed another youth by the hair and threw her to the ground, resulting in minor injuries. The accused was subsequently released to the custody of a guardian. She has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16, 2026.

Assaults

On April 7^th at 1:25 p.m. police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. A 41-year-old male was arrested at the scene for assaulting two security officers. He faces two counts of Assault. He was later released via Undertaking with a future court date of June 4^th, 2026.

A 19-year-old female that security was attempting to detain during the original incident was located and arrested at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the same area. She faces one count of Assault. She was later released via Undertaking with a future court date of June 4^th, 2026.

Prohibited Driving

On April 7^th at 2:54 p.m. a 43-year-old male was arrested for Prohibited Driving after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Louise Avenue. The vehicle was towed, and the male was later released via Appearance Notice with a future court date of June 15^th, 2026.
