Theft Under $5,000

  • On Friday April 24th at 10:40am, a business located in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave. called Police as a male shoplifter had just left the store with some stolen merchandise. The 40-year-old suspect was located in the area, arrested and held in the BPS cells to appear in Court in the morning.
  • Police received a report of a theft of merchandise, that occured on April 17th, from a business in 1000 block of Richmond Ave. The value of the merchandise taken was $60. The suspect was identified with the assistance of the video surveillance footage. The 27-year-old female suspect was arrested today, April 24th, and released on an Undertaking with a Court date scheduled in June.

 

Assault & Mischief

Just after 8pm Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of 7th street for a disturbance. It was learned that a female had assaulted another person in the residence multiple times and broke that same person’s phone a couple of days prior. As a result, the 25year-old suspect was charged with Assault and Mischief to Property Under $5,000 and released on an Undertaking with a Court date in June.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours 2 individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. One individual was released via Appearance Notice with a future court date, while the other was held for court in the morning.   

 

Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)

In the last 24 hours 2 people were lodged in the Brandon Police Service for PDCIPA. They were arrested and held in BPS detention cells to be released once sober and able to care for themselves.
