April 19th, 2026 - News Release.
Arrest Warrant
On April 18th at 1:36 p.m. during an unrelated traffic stop, officers located a 55-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding unendorsed Warrant for Arrest for failing to attend court. He was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells to be held for court the following morning.
Assault
On April 18th, just after 3 p.m. police were called to a business in the 800 block of 18th St North for fight in the parking lot. Officers attended and learned the fight was between a male and a female, however the male had just left in cab. Police tracked down the cab, and the 27-year-old male was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend. He was brought to BPS detention cells to be held for court the following morning.
Arrest Warrant
On April 18th around 5:15 p.m. police checked on a male in the 1200 block of Princess Ave, who was found to be wanted on an unendorsed Warrant for Theft Under $5000. The 51-year-old male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells to be held for court the following morning.
Breach of Court Order
On April 18th at approx. 6 p.m. police were dispatched to a residence on Cornell Bay for a disturbance with intoxicated persons. Officers located a 36-year-old female who is on a court order with the condition not to consume alcohol. She was arrested, lodged in BPS cells until sober, and later released on an Appearance Notice with a future court date of June 26th, 2026.
Breach of Probation Order X4
On April 18th at approx. 7 p.m. police were dispatched to the 800 Block of Victoria Ave for a male acting strange with a utility knife. Officers located the male, who was known to police, and found with two utility knives, a razor blade and multi-tool knife. The 32-year-old-male was arrested for 4 counts of breaching his probation orders for possessing weapons or knives. He was brought to BPS detention cells to be held for court the following morning.
Drug & Weapons charges
On April 18th, just after 9 pm, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Victoria Avenue with three male occupants. Police observed a white powdery substance in the driver’s door, and arrested all 3 males for Possession of a controlled substance. During the search of the accused, police located 13 suspected pills of MDMA on the driver, as well as a few grams of Cocaine on the rear seat passenger. The front passenger was found in possession of a replica Glock pistol and plastic “brass” knuckles. All three males were brought to BPS detention cells for processing and later released with conditions to attend court in June.
Commercial Break & Enters
Between 11pm on April 18th and 3am on April 19th police were alerted to three Break & Enters to businesses in Brandon. The first was in the 2900 block of Victoria Ave where the suspect rummaged through multiple offices. The 2nd was to a business in the 1300 block of 18th St, where the suspect was caught on video, and the 3rd B&E was to a convenience store in the 1500 block of Richmond where the front glass was smashed and the suspect made off with cigarettes and lottery tickets. Thanks to the video surveillance from the 1st and 2nd B&E, which provided a description of the suspect, police were able to use their Remotely Piloted Aircraft as well as K-9 tracking to locate the male suspect responsible for all three incidents. The 40 year old male was arrested for multiple offences and held in BPS detention cells for Court, where he was remanded to appear on Monday April 20th.
Protective Detention + Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the last 24 hours, BPS arrested two males in separate incidents for being intoxicated with nowhere else to go. They were brought to BPS detention cells and will be released when sober.
Breach of Peace
In the last 24 hours, BPS arrested one female and two males from separate incidents who were causing disturbances and were highly intoxicated. They were arrested for Breach of Peace and brought to BPS detention cells, to be released when sober.
