Police News Release - April 13th, 2026

Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. The individuals will be released once sober/calm.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)
On April 12th at approximately 6:17 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of Rosser Avenue following a report of an unknown male sleeping near the rear door of the property. The resident requested police assistance in removing the individual. Officers attended and located a highly intoxicated male. With nowhere for the male to go, he was transported to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to be released once sober.
BPS & WPS Work Together
On April 12th BPS received a request from Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) to execute one of their Warrants (Failure to Attend Court) on a 56-year-old male who is currently in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC). A BPS Police member attended BCC at 5:15 p.m. and arrested the male on the WPS Warrant. The male remained at BCC and will attend court in the morning on April 13th, 2026.
On April 12th at 10:56 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service advised they had arrested a 27-year-old male on the strength of a BPS endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Theft Under $5000). The male was later released with a future court date of May 25th, 2026.
Assault
On April 12th, police received a complaint alleging that a male had assaulted a female on three separate occasions over the previous two weeks. The suspect was subsequently located, arrested, and charged with Assault, Assault by Choking, and Assault by Suffocating. Following his arrest, the 21-year-old male was released on an Undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on June 22, 2026.
