Police Media Release - September 8, 2024
For the past 24 hours:
Warrants:
A 28 year old male was arrested on 4 outstanding BPS and RCMP warrants and lodged for court.
A 38 year old female was arrested for failing to attend court, she was released with a new October court date.
A 22 year old female was arrested for theft under $5000, she was lodged at BPS until sober then released with an October court date.
Possession of a weapon, carry concealed weapon, and court order breaches
During a walk through of a downtown bar members observed a 24 year old female who was known to be on conditions not to attend that establishment. She was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a knife. She was arrested, medically cleared, and lodged for court the following morning.
Domestic Assault, Assault by choking, and Forcible Confinement
At 6:02 pm members were called to a home in the Linden Lanes area for a report of a possible domestic dispute. Upon arrival the female victim indicated she had been assaulted multiple times including being choked and was not allowed to leave the residence. The 29 year old male was taken into custody and held for court the following morning.
Assault
At 8:46 pm BPS was called to an establishment in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue where a male victim had been beaten unconscious by a 24 year old female and a 55 year old male who had fled the scene. Both the male and female were arrested for assault a short time later, they were held at BPS overnight then released with November court dates the following morning.
Impaired Refusal
At 9:49 pm a 43 year old female driver was stopped in the 2000 block of Richmond Avenue during a MPI sponsored roadwatch. This female refused to provide a sample of her breath on a roadside alcohol screening device and was subsequently charged with refusal with a September 16th court date.
Fail to comply with release order
At 12:02 am a 23 year old female was stopped in the 1000 block of Van Horne Avenue in a vehicle with no plates. The female had no driver’s license and was on a curfew which she was breaching, she was arrested and lodged at BPS for court the following day.
Intoxicated Person’s Detention Act
At 12:40 am police responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. A 25 year old female was located in a highly intoxicated state, she was lodged until sober.
Breach of the peace
At 1:04 am a 24 year old male was the subject of complaint at a family dispute in the 200 block of 11th street. This male was arrested and lodged at BPS until sober to prevent any further disturbances.
