Police Media Release - September 7, 2024

Break and Enter

On the morning of 2024-09-06, police received a report from a resident in the 0 hundred block of 12th Street N, as an ex-spouse had thrown a rock through a window of the caller’s home.  Prior to police arrival the suspect fled on foot and attempted to barricade himself inside an abandoned residence which is located in the 1100 block of Stickney Avenue. The 36-year-old male eventually complied with police instructions and was taken into custody without incident.  A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest in addition to conditions to not communicate with the female that resides at the home which he damaged a window.  The accused was lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-09-07 for the charges of Break and Enter, Mischief to Property, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Mischief to Property Under $5000

On the afternoon of 2024-09-06, police attended to a Church in the 400 block of Richmond Avenue as a male was acting erratically and had pushed the air conditioner to the building through a window.  Police located a highly intoxicated male nearby and matched the description provided by the caller.  The accused has been lodged at BPS until sober and will be released with conditions to appear in court 2024-11-07.

 

Theft Under $5000/Possession of Meth

On the afternoon of 2024-09-06, police responded to a hotel in the 200 block of 18th Street N for a reported theft.  Two male suspects were captured on video, stealing two camera batteries from the bag of a patron of the hotel.  The suspects were located by police nearby and arrested.  A search of the 49-year-old suspect resulted in locating numerous baggies of Crystal Meth on his person.  The second 36-year-old suspect was also arrested and the two individual’s have been released with conditions to appear in court 2024-11-14.

 

Warrant

On the afternoon of 2024-09-06, police conducted a check for a male with an outstanding warrant at a residence in the 300 block of 4th Street.  The accused has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-09-07.

 

FTC Undertaking

On the evening of 2024-09-06, police attended to a residence in the 400 block of 10th Street after receiving a report that a 31-year-old male was at the home and contravening a no contact order.  The accused has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-09-07 for the charge of Failure to Comply with Undertaking x2.

 

FTC Undertaking/Possess Weapon

On 2024-09-07, police were conducting a walk-through of a licensed establishment located in the 100 block of 5th Street, when it was verified that a patron was in violation of a court ordered curfew.  Incident to arrest, the 29-year-old female was discovered to be in possession of a knife.  The accused has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-09-07 for the charges of Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Possession of a Weapon.
