Police Media Release - September 6, 2024
Assault
On September 5th at 2:21PM reports of a female having been assaulted in Princess Park came in. Police attended and the female was found with injuries to her face. Police transported the uncooperative 22-year-old female to Brandon hospital. The event is still under investigation.
Warrant Executed
On September 5th while at Princess Park for the previous assault, police located a 26-year-old female with Unendorsed Warrants of Arrest for Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. The female was found to be intoxicated and breaching her Release Order of not consuming alcohol. She was arrested and held in custody for court in the morning.
Domestic Assault
On September 5th at 3:22PM a report came in of a 29-year-old male assaulting his partner physically and verbally. The male was located by police, arrested, and held in custody for court in the morning.
Failure to Attend Court
On September 5th police located a 40-year-old male in the 600 block of 6th street who had a Minnedosa RCMP Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Attend Court. He was arrested and held in custody for court in the morning.
Theft Under $5000
On September 5th at 8:17PM a call of a male breaking into a vehicle came in. The owner of the vehicle provided a description and said the male fled on foot wearing a jersey that was stolen from the vehicle. Within half an hour police located the 26-year-old male, still wearing the jersey, in the 2500 block of Rosser Avenue. The male was arrested and held in custody for court in the morning.
Domestic Assault
On September 6th at 1:00AM a 31-year-old male attended BPS and indicated his girlfriend had chased him out of their house. Police attended the residence in the 400 block of 10th Street and the female disclosed being assaulted by the male stating he had thrown her down a set of stairs. The female showed minor injuries from the assault. The male was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of November 14th, 2024.
Failure to Comply – Curfew / LGCA Possession of Cannabis by a Young Person
On September 6th at 2:55AM, police located an 18-year-old male in the 1000 block of Rosser Avenue who is bound by an Undertaking with a 9:00PM curfew. He was arrested for Failure to Comply with Undertaking and later released with an Appearance Notice with a court date of November 18th, 2024. He was also issued a ticket under the LGCA for Possession of Cannabis by a Young Person.
